The Kentucky Turnout Blanket Hurricane is a unique waterblocking blanket for the meadow or paddock. The blanket guarantees a dry horse, even in the heaviest showers. That is why the blanket is very suitable for horses that are outside 24/7. The blanket is very resistant to tearing and remains 100% waterproof without having to be recoated.

Fabrics & materials
Kentucky Horsewear hase used the same materials as for the horse raincoat for 100% water and wind resistance, namely a PU coating. This coating is also used for the typical yellow fishing jackets. Because the protective layer is attached to the outside of the blanket, the blanket is very unique. Thanks to the artificial rabbit fur lining, the blanket does not cause chafing. In addition, it gives the horse a shiny coat and prevents a clammy feeling under the blanket. The hurricane blanket has two stainless steel closures at the chest, two belly girths and a detachable leg strap with a plastic cover. Because of the classic Kentucky look with the artificial leather patches and gold details, your horse will look good even on the rainiest days.

Shape & size
The texture of the artificial rabbit fur has been developed in such a way that it always slides back into place when the horse has rolled or lay down. The tail flap provides extra protection against cold and rain. If more protection is needed, you can purchase a matching neck piece. The neck piece is available in 0g and 150g and can be attached to the blanket by means of 2 Velcro fasteners. The neck piece is slightly longer at the withers. This prevents rain from seeping into the blanket.

Maintenance Tips
To clean the blanket, you can wash it at 30 degrees. You can also sponge it off or spray it off with a garden hose. It is best to let the blanket air dry. Unlike other waterproof blankets, the hurricane blanket does not require a fluorine carbon treatment to remain waterproof.
